Goggle Malfunction in the Freestyle Relay!

His first meet was last week. After 2 years off, it wasn't bad. We had gotten him new goggles (2 pair)...the Speedo Vanquisher's worked before, so if it's not broken...well, you don't mess with goggles!

On the block and ready to dive in for the 2nd leg of the Freestyle Relay, he entered the water nicely...BUT,  the worst thing that can happen in a race happened. Goggles slipped off and down over his face when he dove in! Wouldn't have been so bad if it was an individual event, but he was on the A relay and they were counting on him to win.

Fortunately, "autopilot" was on and he remembered the Golden Rule that he learned at his very first meet. KEEP SWIMMING!

They finished hard and I let out a sigh of relief...no DQ for starting before the first swimmer hit the wall, no stopping to adjust goggles...nothing. All is well and the new goggles have now been adjusted for him.
